Advocacy and Communications Coordinator – Sierra Leone Coastal Resilience Project

About the role

The Advocacy and Communications Coordinator will support the Sierra Leone Coastal Resilience Project by integrating advocacy, communication and social‑behaviour change approaches. Based in Freetown, the role involves frequent travel to project districts and coastal communities to promote climate‑resilient practices, strengthen community engagement and document evidence and learning.

Key responsibilities

• Implement field‑level advocacy, communication and Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) activities.
• Integrate advocacy and SBC approaches to promote climate‑resilient practices.
• Strengthen community engagement and facilitate stakeholder consultations.
• Document project evidence, lessons learned and success stories.
• Collaborate closely with the Chief of Party, District Project Managers, MEAL team and the ACCM unit.
• Travel regularly to districts and coastal communities to support advocacy, communication, documentation and learning activities.

Required profile

• Sierra Leonean national; women and persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Experience in advocacy, communications or social‑behaviour change within development or climate‑resilience projects.
• Proven ability to work in field settings and travel frequently.
• Strong stakeholder‑engagement and community‑outreach skills.
