Assistant Project Manager

About the role

The Assistant Project Manager will support the supervision and implementation of clean cooking projects, ensuring they align with approved proposals, budgets, and timelines. Working closely with the Clean Cooking Thematic Lead, the role contributes to achieving project targets and fostering synergies with other initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in supervising project activities according to approved plans, budgets, and schedules.
• Support the achievement of project targets and key performance indicators.
• Promote linkages and synergies with national and international projects and programs.
• Help monitor, evaluate, systematize, and report on project progress.
• Collect and verify documentation for donor reporting, prepare narrative and financial reports.
• Prepare additional reports required by AVSI, local authorities, or donors.
• Develop relationships with donors, partners, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
• Coordinate with HQ thematic leads to share strategies, innovations, lessons learned, and training needs.
• Share significant experiences and lessons within AVSI’s global network.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Environment, Energy, Rural Development, Economics, Management, Entrepreneurship, Development Studies or related field.
• Master’s degree in a relevant field is an advantage.
• At least 1 year of experience in a development or humanitarian context (preferred).
• Experience in clean cooking projects in Africa is a plus.
• Proficiency in English (written and oral) at C1 level.
