About the role
The Deputy Representative Programme supports the Country Office Representative in leading UNICEF’s work in Sierra Leone. This senior position provides strategic guidance, oversees programme delivery, and ensures that humanitarian and development actions align with UNICEF’s standards and the rights of children.
Key responsibilities
- Advise on overall management of the Country Office and development of policies and strategies.
- Coordinate all phases of the Country Office programme, from planning to results delivery.
- Monitor programme quality, conduct regular reviews and ensure accountability.
- Represent UNICEF in UN system coordination, alliance building and public‑private partnerships.
- Lead humanitarian programme delivery in line with UNICEF global policies.
- Foster innovation, knowledge management and capacity‑building initiatives.
- Ensure security of personnel, programmes and organisational assets.
Required profile
- Advanced university degree in social sciences, international relations, public policy, sociology, community development or a related field.
- Minimum ten years of professional experience in development cooperation at the international level, including technical and managerial leadership.
- Experience working in developing countries and in humanitarian settings is essential.
