District Health Coordinator

About the role

The District Health Coordinator will support the Integrated MNH + Child Health + Nutrition Project funded by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter‑day Saints Charity. Based in Port Loko, the role strengthens district‑level health management and service delivery to reduce maternal, neonatal and child mortality in Sierra Leone.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and implement project activities at district level, ensuring timely delivery.
• Lead community engagement and coordinate with District Health Management Teams and health facilities.
• Represent the project in district meetings, policy forums and technical consultations.
• Support capacity building of health facility staff and promote quality‑improvement tools.
• Monitor key health indicators and report progress to national and project stakeholders.
• Collaborate with other district projects to integrate RMNCAH (Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health) initiatives.

Required profile

• Experience working with district health systems or similar public‑health projects.
• Strong understanding of maternal, newborn, child health and nutrition services.
• Ability to work with government officials, NGOs and community groups.
• Flexibility to respond to humanitarian emergencies and adjust working hours as needed.
