About the role
Working closely with UNICEF programme sections, government counterparts, academic institutions, research partners and development stakeholders, the consultant will support the integration of behavioural insights, social listening and community intelligence into UNICEF programming.
Key responsibilities
- Integrate behavioural insights, social listening and community intelligence into programme design and implementation.
- Coordinate and support formative research, behavioural assessments, social norms studies and other evidence‑generation processes.
- Develop key messages, communication materials and awareness‑raising campaigns based on research findings.
- Facilitate stakeholder consultations, workshops, training sessions and focus group discussions.
- Design and utilise communication channels such as social media, multimedia and community outreach methods.
- Prepare work plans, budgets and reports, ensuring alignment with UNICEF standards.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Social and Behaviour Change, Social Sciences, Public Health, Anthropology, Psychology, Gender Studies or related field.
- Minimum two years of progressive professional experience in social and behaviour change, community engagement, behavioural science or related areas.
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating formative research, social norms studies and evidence generation.
- Proven ability to develop communication materials, key messages and awareness campaigns.
- Experience conducting stakeholder consultations, workshops, training sessions and focus group discussions.
- Strong understanding of child rights, gender equality, gender‑based violence and participation principles, especially in education contexts.
- Experience developing work plans, budgets and managing contracts; experience with UNICEF or other UN agencies is an asset.
