Project Manager – Clean Cooking Programs

About the role

AVSI is seeking a Project Manager to lead its Clean Cooking initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet performance targets.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise implementation of all project activities in line with the approved proposal, budget, and schedule, in collaboration with the Clean Cooking Thematic Lead.
• Ensure achievement of project targets and key performance indicators.
• Contribute to recruitment, orientation, and training of project staff.
• Coordinate and develop the project team, strengthening capacity, autonomy, and professional growth.
• Apply AVSI logistic, safety, security, communication, and administrative procedures.
• Promote synergies with other national and international projects and programmes.
• Monitor, evaluate, systematize and report project progress and results.
• Collect and verify documentation for donor reports, preparing narrative and financial reports.
• Maintain relationships with donors, partners, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
• Represent AVSI in sectoral coordination structures and support donor programming and new funding opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Environment, Energy, Rural Development, Economics, Management, Entrepreneurship, Development Studies or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a development/humanitarian context.
• At least 1 year of experience managing clean cooking projects in Africa.
• Proficiency in English (written and oral) at C1 level.
