Project Manager – Clean Cooking Project

About the role

The Project Manager will lead the implementation of AVSI's clean cooking initiative in Sierra Leone, ensuring that project activities meet approved proposals, budgets, and timelines. Reporting directly to the Country Program Coordinator and Country Representative, the role also coordinates with donor and thematic leads.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise all project activities, ensuring compliance with budget, schedule, and donor requirements.
• Achieve project targets and key performance indicators.
• Recruit, orient, train, and mentor project staff, fostering capacity and autonomy.
• Apply AVSI logistics, safety, security, communication, and administrative procedures.
• Promote synergies with other national and international programmes.
• Monitor, evaluate, and report on project progress, preparing narrative and financial donor reports.
• Maintain proactive relationships with donors, partners, local authorities, and stakeholders.
• Represent AVSI in sectoral coordination structures and working groups.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing donor‑funded development projects.
• Strong ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and oversee field operations.
• Excellent reporting and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Familiarity with clean cooking or energy sector initiatives is preferred.
