Project Manager – Clean Cooking Projects

About the role

The Project Manager will lead the implementation of the clean cooking project in Sierra Leone and future initiatives in the same sector. Based in Freetown, the role involves coordinating field activities, managing budgets, and ensuring targets are met.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise all project activities in line with approved proposals, budgets, and schedules.
• Ensure achievement of project targets and key performance indicators.
• Recruit, orient, and train project staff; foster capacity building and professional development.
• Apply AVSI logistics, safety, security, communication, and administrative procedures.
• Promote synergies with national and international programs and monitor project progress.
• Prepare narrative and financial reports for donors and AVSI requirements.
• Maintain relationships with donors, partners, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
• Represent AVSI in sectoral coordination structures and contribute to donor programming and new funding opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing development projects, preferably in the clean energy or environmental sector.
• Strong coordination and supervisory skills.
• Excellent communication in English.
• Ability to travel frequently to field locations.
