Project Manager – Women’s Land for Peace

About the role

The Project Manager will lead the implementation of the Women’s Land for Peace project, a UN Peacebuilding Fund‑supported initiative that strengthens women’s leadership in peacebuilding and promotes gender‑transformative natural resource governance across four districts in Sierra Leone. Based in Freetown with regular travel to the field, the role ensures high‑quality delivery, learning, and sustainability planning.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and coordination of the project across Port Loko, Tonkolili, Kailahun and Kono districts.
• Offer technical support to implementing partners and oversee partner‑led activities.
• Coordinate project planning, monitoring, reporting and results documentation.
• Manage project risks, budgets and compliance with UNPBF and Christian Aid requirements.
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement, advocacy and community dialogue on women’s land rights.
• Lead sustainability planning and project close‑out activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing development projects, preferably in gender, land governance or peacebuilding.
• Experience working with civil‑society partners and government institutions.
• Ability to travel regularly to remote districts and work in a multicultural environment.
• Strong analytical, reporting and risk‑management capabilities.
