Project Manager – Women’s Land for Peace

About the role
Christian Aid Sierra Leone is seeking a Project Manager to lead the Women’s Land for Peace initiative, a UN‑funded programme that strengthens women’s leadership in peacebuilding and promotes gender‑transformative natural resource governance across four districts. Based in Freetown with regular travel to project sites, the role combines technical support, coordination and results‑focused management.
Key responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and coordination for the implementation of the Women’s Land for Peace project.
- Oversee partner‑led activities in Port Loko, Tonkolili, Kailahun and Kono, ensuring timely and high‑quality delivery of outputs.
- Support implementing partners with technical guidance, capacity‑building and advocacy on land governance and gender equality.
- Monitor progress, manage risks, and ensure compliance with donor, safeguarding and accountability requirements.
- Maintain strong relationships with government counterparts, donors, civil‑society partners and other stakeholders.
- Lead project learning, results documentation, sustainability planning and close‑out processes.
Required profile
- Proven experience managing development‑sector projects, preferably in peacebuilding, gender equality or natural resource governance.
- Strong understanding of land governance frameworks, gender‑transformative policies and the UN Peacebuilding Fund context.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder‑engagement and reporting skills.
- Ability to travel regularly to remote districts and work flexibly across time zones.
