Senior Manager Communications Consultant – Freetown

About the role

The Consultant – Senior Manager Communications will support the Freetown Co‑Chair’s Office within C40’s Governance & Executive Engagement team. This fixed‑term role focuses on shaping and delivering strategic communications that amplify the impact of C40’s climate initiatives in Sierra Leone and across the network.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement communication strategies for the Freetown Co‑Chair, aligning with C40’s climate agenda.
• Produce high‑quality content, including briefs, speeches, reports, and digital assets for internal and external audiences.
• Coordinate with city officials, partners, and media to ensure consistent messaging and visibility of achievements.
• Monitor media coverage and public sentiment, providing insights to refine communication tactics.
• Support the preparation of presentations and stakeholder engagement materials for senior leadership.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior communications or public affairs roles, preferably within climate, governance, or international NGOs.
• Strong understanding of climate policy, city‑level initiatives, and stakeholder dynamics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
