About the role
The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) Sierra Leone is seeking a Co-Principal Investigator to provide scientific co‑leadership for a monitoring and evaluation (M&E) study of Guardian™ spatial emanators deployed to reduce malaria transmission. The role will anchor the study within Sierra Leonean research institutions and ensure compliance with national academic and ethical standards.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the local institutional sponsor and co‑lead the M&E study design and implementation.
- Oversee the four linked study components: enhanced health‑facility surveillance, facility‑based case‑control study, household surveys, and entomological assessments.
- Collaborate with the Sierra Leone National Malaria Control Programme, PMI Evolve, and Abt Associates to coordinate field activities.
- Ensure data quality, ethical compliance, and timely reporting of findings.
- Facilitate capacity building for local research staff and stakeholders.
Required profile
- Affiliation with a reputable Sierra Leonean university or research institution.
- Proven experience in public‑health research, preferably in malaria or vector‑control studies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multi‑disciplinary research projects.
- Strong understanding of ethical and regulatory requirements for health research in Sierra Leone.
