Graphic Designer Consultant (Service Providers)

About the role

The International Trade Centre (ITC) is recruiting a Graphic Designer Consultant to develop branding and promotional materials for a portfolio of 8 MSMEs in Sierra Leone, as part of its "Empowering youth through digital technologies" project (2024-2028). The consultant works under the direct supervision of the E-commerce Programme Officer, from home or Freetown, for about 2.5 months; travel within Sierra Leone may be required to meet MSMEs and attend coordination meetings.

Key responsibilities

• Review and understand each MSME's branding brief, and coordinate with the project team to ensure consistency.
• Develop branding packages for 8 MSMEs: logo design with variations and digital formats, a 1-2 page branding guideline covering colours, typography and logo use, and a digital-friendly brochure.
• Create up to three editable social media templates for Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp (service promotion, testimonials, educational content).
• Provide up to three rounds of revisions per SME and deliver editable source files and production-ready files.
• Ensure all materials comply with ITC's communication and visibility guidelines and that the consultant holds the necessary copyright permissions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Marketing, Fine Arts or a related field, or extensive relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• At least 5 years of experience in graphic design and branding, including visual identities and marketing materials for SMEs.
• Experience working with businesses from diverse sectors and with entrepreneurship development programmes is desirable.
• A professional client portfolio must be submitted.
• Advanced English and Krio.

Required skills

• Professional design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva Pro or equivalent.
• Strong graphic design and visual communication skills and a good understanding of branding principles.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and communicate well with clients.
