Infield Mentor

About the role

The Infield Mentor supports missionaries in their effort to invite others to Christ by providing hands‑on training, coaching, and feedback. Working within the Training department, the mentor delivers instruction across one‑on‑one, small‑group, and large‑group settings, following an approved curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver coaching, facilitation, and workshops for missionaries at various stages, including pre‑MTC, during MTC, and post‑MTC.
• Plan, prepare, and co‑teach lessons using the approved curriculum and coordinate with companion teachers.
• Monitor Canvas participation, manage discussion boards, and assess language proficiency when required.
• Implement guidance from Teacher Trainers, Managers of Training, and Senior Managers of Training.
• Attend weekly training meetings, co‑teacher sessions, and assist area leadership with mission coordination.
• Role‑play as a non‑member for training scenarios and support temporary duties such as Mission Leadership Seminars.

Required profile

• Returned missionary with a strong testimony of the restored gospel.
• Fluency in English and a specified second language (for language‑focused positions).
• Outstanding coaching, facilitation, and training abilities.
• Knowledge of the “Preach My Gospel” curriculum.
• Self‑motivated, professional, and receptive to feedback.
• Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Canvas learning‑management system.
