Institutional and Sectoral Coordinating and Stakeholder Engagement Specialist

About the role

The Specialist will support FAO’s NAP readiness project in Sierra Leone, mapping institutional mandates, engaging stakeholders, and developing frameworks to strengthen climate‑risk management across key sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Map institutional roles and private‑sector, CSO, and development‑partner stakeholders for National Adaptation Planning.
• Develop a framework document and an Operational Manual defining coordination mechanisms, capacity gaps, TORs and a NAP roadmap.
• Conduct needs assessments, action plans and organise national workshops to validate frameworks and engage state and non‑state actors.
• Facilitate stakeholder meetings at national, regional, district and community levels and support capacity‑building trainings.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in environmental science or climate change.
• Minimum 5 years experience in sectoral and institutional coordination for climate‑change adaptation projects.
• Working knowledge (level C) of English; local language knowledge is an asset.
• Demonstrated analytical, strategic planning and facilitation abilities.
