About the role
The National Baseline and Yield Study Expert will support FAO Sierra Leone’s Joint United Nations Nutrition Programme by preparing, organizing, compiling and analysing baseline and yield‑related data. The role works under the supervision of the FAO Representative, M&E Expert and Programme Assistant, in close coordination with the Irish Aid Project Technical Coordinator.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct desk reviews of programme and assessment documentation and compile secondary baseline data.
- Assist in preparing baseline study methodologies, templates and technical documentation.
- Support the configuration of digital data collection tools (e.g., KoBo Collect, ODK) and organise training for data collectors.
- Monitor data quality during field collection, and assist with data cleaning, validation and storage.
- Analyse quantitative and qualitative data using statistical software (SPSS, STATA, R) and produce summary statistics, charts and analytical tables.
- Prepare sex‑disaggregated datasets and contribute to GIS‑related analytical outputs.
- Document findings and help draft technical reports and analytical documents.
Required profile
- Will work under close technical supervision of FAO teams and will not independently represent the organisation.
- Ability to support data collection, management and analysis activities for baseline and yield studies.
