Project Manager – Clean Cooking

About the role

The Project Manager will lead the implementation of clean cooking initiatives, ensuring that all activities are delivered according to the approved proposal, budget, financial plan and timeline. Working closely with the Clean Cooking Thematic Lead, the role guarantees achievement of project targets and key performance indicators while fostering strong partnerships with donors, partners and local authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and take final responsibility for all project activities, aligning them with the approved plan and budget.
• Coordinate project staff, strengthen their capacity and support their professional development.
• Apply AVSI logistics, safety, security, communication and administrative procedures.
• Promote synergies with other national and international programmes.
• Monitor, evaluate, systematise and report project progress and outcomes.
• Collect and verify documentation for donor reporting, preparing narrative and financial reports.
• Maintain proactive relationships with donors, partners, local authorities and other stakeholders.
• Represent AVSI in sectoral coordination structures and contribute to donor programming and proposal development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Environment, Energy, Rural Development, Economics, Management, Entrepreneurship, Development Studies or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum 2 years experience in a development or humanitarian context.
• At least 1 year experience managing clean cooking projects in Africa.
• Proficiency in English (written and oral) at C1 level.
