Lead Data Analytics Instructor for DAT 200 Programme

About the role

WIATech, the academy division of Tabempa Engineering Limited in Waterloo, Sierra Leone, is seeking a lead instructor for its DAT 200 Data Analytics Engineering diploma. You will own the analytics‑engineering portion of the programme, delivering end‑to‑end training on the modern analytics stack while collaborating with faculty covering Python, SQL and machine learning.

Key responsibilities

• Teach analytical SQL, including window functions, CTEs and query optimisation.
• Guide students through industrial data cleaning using Pandas.
• Deliver BI and visualisation training with Power BI, Tableau and Looker Studio, focusing on dashboard design and executive storytelling.
• Instruct analytics engineering topics such as data warehousing (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, Azure Synapse), dimensional modelling, ETL/ELT pipelines with Apache Airflow and dbt, and big‑data processing with Spark.
• Cover product and business analytics concepts – funnels, cohorts, retention, and analytics consulting.
• Run capstone projects and oral defences in WIATech’s defence‑led model.

Required profile

• Senior analytics professional (analytics engineer, senior data analyst or analytics lead) with hands‑on production experience across the modern analytics stack.
• Proven ability to model a data warehouse, build dashboards, ship pipelines and present findings to executives.
• Practical instinct for handling messy, real‑world data and translating analysis into business decisions.
• Bonus: experience in banking, telecom, NGO or fintech; cloud data certifications; prior teaching or mentoring.
