Janitor

About the role

The Janitor will support the Operations department by maintaining a clean, hygienic, and safe environment at the Dorma Distribution Centre in Koidu Town. Working under the supervision of the Warehouse Officer, the role focuses on daily cleaning, disinfection, and waste management in accordance with PIH/MOHS and IPC standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning of aisles, offices, docking areas, shelves, restrooms, corridors, and other facility zones.
• Apply PIH/MOHS hygiene and disinfection protocols, using appropriate chemicals and cleaning products.
• Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, and maintain equipment in good condition.
• Collect and dispose of waste to designated sites, ensuring dustbins are emptied regularly.
• Promote proper use of water points, latrines, and hand‑washing stations among staff and visitors.
• Report any repair or maintenance needs related to hygiene to the Warehouse Officer.
• Assist with additional departmental duties as required and collaborate with team members to meet objectives.

Required profile

• Technical Certificate, preferably with a specialization in Hygiene and Sanitation.
• WASSCE qualification is an advantage.
• Minimum of 6 months experience in a cleaning or janitorial role.

Required skills

• Knowledge of PIH/MOHS hygiene standards.
• Familiarity with IPC cleaning protocols.
• Ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely and effectively.
