About the role
Partners In Health is seeking a skilled Biomedical Engineer to join its operations team in Kono, Sierra Leone. The engineer will support the maintenance and improvement of medical equipment used across community health centers and referral hospitals, ensuring safe and reliable patient care.
Key responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and repair of a wide range of medical devices.
- Develop and implement equipment management procedures and documentation.
- Collaborate with biomedical technicians and clinical staff to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Assist in the procurement, installation, and validation of new technologies.
- Ensure compliance with local and international safety standards.
Required profile
- Degree in Biomedical Engineering or related field.
- Experience working with medical equipment in low‑resource settings is preferred.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Commitment to PIH’s mission of health equity.
Required skills
- Equipment maintenance and calibration.
- Technical troubleshooting of medical devices.
- Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards for biomedical equipment.
