BSc Nurse Anesthetist – Lead Anesthesia Services

About the role

The BSc Nurse Anesthetist will lead anesthesia services at Koidu Government Hospital and affiliated health facilities. This senior clinical position provides comprehensive pre‑operative, intra‑operative and post‑operative care for obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics and general surgery patients, while also supporting critical care units.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver safe and individualized anesthesia for a wide range of surgical procedures.
• Provide pre‑operative assessments, intra‑operative monitoring, and post‑operative pain management.
• Lead and mentor junior anesthesia staff, ensuring adherence to SOPs and international standards.
• Develop and update SOPs, policies, and procedures for the anesthesia team.
• Maintain anesthesia equipment, drug inventories, and accurate record‑keeping for quantification.
• Collaborate with surgeons, obstetricians, and other clinicians to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Support infection prevention and control protocols across surgical and wound‑care areas.

Required profile

• Licensed BSc Nurse Anesthetist with experience in surgical anesthesia.
• Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a clinical setting.
• Ability to work in a high‑dependency and emergency environment.
• Strong commitment to teaching, training, and mentoring staff.
