Electrical & Instrumentation Coordinator

About the role

The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Coordinator will lead maintenance and construction support for the fixed processing plant and site infrastructure of a greenfield gold mining project. The role ensures that all electrical and instrumentation systems are safe, compliant, and reliable, enabling maximum plant availability and safe production.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate preventive, predictive and corrective E&I maintenance for switchgear, MCCs, transformers, VSDs and control systems.
• Develop and align E&I maintenance schedules with the overall planning team.
• Support commissioning activities, including FAT, SAT, loop checks and energisation.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety, LOTO procedures, hazardous‑area (Ex) regulations and statutory inspections.
• Manage calibration programmes, troubleshoot faults, and optimise control systems in partnership with Operations and Reliability.
• Maintain accurate equipment records in the CMMS and oversee critical spares inventories.
• Prepare E&I maintenance budgets, monitor expenditures and coordinate contractor performance, especially with the Power Station Contractor.

Required profile

• Proven experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance within an industrial or mining environment.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations, LOTO, and hazardous‑area compliance.
• Ability to work closely with contractors, vendors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
