Graphic Designer Consultant – Branding for MSMEs

About the role

The International Trade Centre (ITC) is recruiting a Graphic Designer Consultant to develop branding and promotional materials for a portfolio of 12-15 MSMEs in Sierra Leone, as part of its "Empowering youth through digital technologies" project (2024-2028). The consultant works under the direct supervision of the E-commerce Programme Officer, from home or Freetown, for about 2.5 months; travel within Sierra Leone may be required. The expected duration is November 2026 to January 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Review and coordinate branding needs with MSMEs and the Branding Support Consultant, analysing each brief and clarifying products, target market and objectives.
• Develop branding packages for 12-15 MSMEs, including logo design, mini branding guidelines, business cards, thank-you cards, product and packaging labels, and three editable social media templates (Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp).
• Incorporate feedback and provide up to three rounds of revisions per MSME, producing editable source files and production-ready files in a structured folder.
• Ensure materials comply with ITC's communication and visibility guidelines and that templates can be updated with tools such as Canva.
• Submit a summary report of work completed and deliverables produced.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Marketing, Fine Arts or a related field, or extensive relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in graphic design and branding.
• Experience developing visual identities and marketing materials for SMEs and working with businesses from diverse sectors.
• Desirable: experience with entrepreneurship development programmes.
• A professional client portfolio must be submitted.
• Advanced English and Krio.

Required skills

• Professional design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva Pro or equivalent.
• Ability to create logos, branding guidelines, business cards, social media templates and packaging labels.
