Maintenance Attendant

About the role

The Maintenance Attendant supports the day‑to‑day functioning of Koidu Government Hospital and the Maternal Center of Excellence. Working under the Head of Maintenance, the role provides manual assistance for electrical, generator, HVAC, plumbing and general facility tasks, ensuring a safe and operational environment for patients and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with basic electrical tasks such as cable pulling, conduit work and light‑fixture replacement.
• Support generator maintenance including oil changes, filter replacement, fuel checks and cleaning of generator rooms.
• Help HVAC technicians with filter cleaning, duct assistance and drain‑line clearing on split units, VRF systems and cassettes.
• Perform plumbing duties like pipe installation, leak repairs, water‑tank cleaning and septic system inspections.
• Maintain and repair doors, locks, hinges, drawers, cabinets and window glazing.
• Provide physical support for equipment installation, removal and relocation throughout the hospital.
• Load, unload and transport tools, parts and materials between storage and utility areas.
• Keep technical workspaces clean and organized, and identify safety hazards.
• Conduct routine inspections, report faults and collaborate with maintenance, operations and biomedical teams.

Required profile

• Works under the supervision of the Head of Maintenance.
• Physically able to handle tools, equipment and materials.
• Committed to following occupational health and safety procedures.

Required skills

• Electrical installation basics (cable pulling, conduit, fixture replacement).
• Generator maintenance (oil change, filter replacement, fuel checks).
• HVAC support (filter cleaning, duct assistance, drain‑line clearing).
• Plumbing tasks (pipe installation, leak repair, water‑tank cleaning, septic inspection).
• Basic carpentry and hardware repair (doors, locks, hinges, windows).
• Equipment handling and manual loading/unloading.
• Use of personal protective equipment.
