Mason – Hospital Maintenance

About the role

The Mason will support the maintenance and development of Koidu Government Hospital and the Maternal Center of Excellence, ensuring that all masonry work meets the structural and hygiene standards required in a healthcare environment. Working under the Head of Maintenance, you will carry out repairs, new construction, and finishing tasks across hospital facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Repair and renovate walls, foundations, floors, and brickwork within hospital wards, corridors, and utility areas.
• Perform paving works, including concrete and interlocking tile installation for outdoor walkways, ramps, and drainage structures.
• Execute new masonry projects such as block laying, structural reinforcements, and room modifications.
• Apply plastering, screeding, tile fixing, and concrete casting, ensuring correct mix ratios and proper curing.
• Maintain clean and safe job sites, especially in patient‑care zones, and follow occupational health and safety procedures.
• Conduct routine inspections of building structures, identify urgent repairs, and coordinate material requests.
• Collaborate with hospital maintenance, operations, environmental services, and external contractors as needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience in masonry, concrete work, and structural repairs in a professional setting.
• Ability to work on-site in a hospital environment while adhering to strict hygiene and safety standards.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow architectural and engineering specifications.
