Private Sector Engagement Expert

About the role

The Private Sector Engagement Expert will support the Africa‑EU Space Partnership Programme (AESPP Boost) by fostering business development, innovation and investment across African and European space ecosystems. The role focuses on strengthening private‑sector participation, facilitating matchmaking and promoting commercial opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and engage companies, entrepreneurs and investors in the space, geospatial and technology sectors.
• Conduct market and value‑chain analyses to uncover business opportunities.
• Facilitate matchmaking, business support and access to finance for selected projects.
• Promote knowledge exchange and partnership building between African and European stakeholders.
• Support the preparation of policy dialogue and institutional partnership initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in economics, business administration, engineering, innovation management or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in private‑sector development, industrial cooperation, innovation or investment facilitation.
• At least 4 years of experience engaging companies, entrepreneurs or investors, including market analysis and commercialisation.
• Experience in the space, geospatial or technology sector, preferably with exposure to African markets.
• Excellent command of English; working knowledge of French or Portuguese is an asset.
