Communications and Member Engagement Associate

About the role

This role enhances the visibility and engagement of SLCCIA members by managing communications, overseeing the digital presence and running high-quality events. It demonstrates value to members, partners and sponsors and drives active participation through strategic content and event coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Draft newsletters, social media updates, website content and member notices using information from the Secretariat and Committees.
• Manage the content and events schedule, collect inputs from team members and monitor publication deadlines, invitations and follow-up.
• Help organise the annual Chamber Dinner and quarterly Business Lunch series, including workplans, invitations, RSVPs, attendee lists and logistics.
• Track sponsor and partner prospects and help prepare sponsorship materials, correspondence and follow-up.
• Maintain accurate distribution lists for members, stakeholders, media and events, including data maintenance and contact verification.
• Collect approved photos, member stories, testimonials and event highlights, securing permissions for their use.
• Track digital and event engagement metrics, gather participant feedback and write performance summaries after events or campaigns.
• Follow SLCCIA branding guidelines, approval workflows and confidentiality protocols, escalating sensitive media inquiries before publication.

Required profile

• Proven ability to prepare newsletters, digital posts and web content.
• Experience supporting the planning and delivery of corporate events and managing participant data.
• Familiarity with brand compliance, confidentiality standards and crisis escalation procedures.

• Strong organisation: keeping calendars, tracking deadlines and managing event logistics.
• Maintaining accurate databases and distribution lists with attention to detail.
• Gathering and curating visual and written content with proper consent.
• Monitoring engagement metrics and compiling performance reports.
