Field Officer – Community Health Supervision in Kambia

About the role

The District Field Officer will supervise Community Health Workers (CHWs) and peer supervisors in Kambia District, supporting vaccine demand generation, immunisation outreaches and malaria vaccine integration. The role reports to the District Manager and works closely with the District Health Management Team and local stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Provide supportive supervision, coaching and mentoring to CHWs and peer supervisors, ensuring correct implementation of vaccine demand generation and defaulter tracking activities.
• Plan, organise and support community‑level vaccine demand generation activities and immunisation outreach sessions, linking eligible children to services.
• Ensure timely, accurate data collection, validation and reporting from CHWs, and contribute to data quality checks at district and national levels.
• Coordinate with the DHMT, peripheral health units and community leaders to facilitate smooth implementation of activities.
• Prepare activity requests, logistical plans and manage programme materials while complying with organisational policies.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Community Development or a related field.
• Experience supervising community health workers or similar field‑based teams.
• Familiarity with immunisation programmes, vaccine demand generation and data reporting in low‑resource settings.
• Ability to work collaboratively with government health structures and local stakeholders.
