Head of Agent Network Operations

About the role

MarketCo is launching a mobile‑money super‑agent venture in Sierra Leone and needs a seasoned leader to build and run the country’s highest‑performing agent network. As Head of Agent Network Operations you will design, launch and optimise the full ecosystem of POS shops, kiosks and indirect agents.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end agent network performance – activation, float management, transaction volumes and compliance.
• Recruit, onboard and manage Territory Supervisors, rebalancers and TDRs.
• Drive month‑on‑month growth in active agents, cash‑in/cash‑out volumes and airtime distribution.
• Ensure agents maintain minimum operating balances and follow MNO standards and the agent manual.
• Manage relationships with kiosks, partners and super‑agents, handling disputes and service quality.
• Co‑own daily close‑of‑business reporting, guaranteeing accurate end‑of‑day positions and reconciliations.
• Promote adoption of the Co Channels app and other digital tools, tracking utilisation as a core KPI.
• Collaborate with Finance and Float Controller on working‑capital deployment and leakage control.
• Represent MarketCo with regulators, local stakeholders and community partners.

Required profile

• 5+ years in mobile‑money agent network operations (e.g., MTN MoMo, Vodacom, Wave).
• Proven experience managing large agent/distributor networks (500+ agents preferred).
• Strong people‑leadership skills with a track record of hiring and developing field teams.
• Data‑driven mindset comfortable with daily reporting and performance accountability.
• Experience driving digital‑tool adoption at field level is a plus.
• Startup mentality – able to build processes from scratch.
• West‑African market experience, especially Sierra Leone, Senegal, Ghana or Nigeria.
• Fluent English; French is a bonus.
