Head of Finance and Administration

About the role

The Head of Finance and Administration will lead the financial and administrative functions of Hotel Barmoi, a boutique hotel in Freetown. This full‑time, on‑site position reports directly to senior management and plays a key role in supporting the hotel’s growth and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all financial operations, including preparation of accurate financial statements and reports.
• Develop, monitor and analyse budgets and financial plans to support strategic decisions.
• Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax regulations and other statutory requirements.
• Provide strategic input for financial planning and contribute to long‑term business development.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase operational efficiency.
• Supervise administrative functions and coordinate cross‑departmental activities.

Required profile

• Proven ability to prepare and analyse financial statements with high accuracy.
• Strong finance expertise combined with advanced analytical skills for decision‑making.
• Demonstrated experience in budgeting and managing financial plans.
• Exceptional organisational and leadership capabilities.
• In‑depth knowledge of Sierra Leonean accounting principles, regulations and tax compliance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field; ACCA, CPA or similar certifications are a plus.
• Previous experience in the hospitality sector is highly desirable.
