Rising Faster Coach

About the role

The Rising Faster Coach will support a cluster of primary schools in Sierra Leone by delivering high‑quality coaching to teachers and head teachers. Working closely with the Rising Faster Program, the coach ensures that structured lesson guides, professional development sessions and data‑driven monitoring are effectively implemented to improve foundational numeracy.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular on‑site coaching visits to teachers, providing feedback on lesson delivery and classroom practice.
• Support head teachers in creating safe, supportive learning environments and in interpreting student performance data.
• Facilitate professional development workshops focused on numeracy instruction and pedagogical best practices.
• Collect and analyse monitoring data to identify learning gaps and inform targeted interventions.
• Collaborate with community stakeholders to reinforce the program’s objectives and sustain school‑level improvements.

Required profile

• Experience in primary‑level teaching or educational coaching, preferably in low‑resource contexts.
• Strong understanding of foundational numeracy concepts and instructional strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage teachers, school leaders and community members.
• Willingness to travel frequently to schools within the assigned cluster.

• Proficiency in using data collection tools and basic data interpretation.
