Communication Strategy Consultant

About the role

UNEP is looking for a Communication Strategy Consultant to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive communication strategy for the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP) 3.0 in Sierra Leone. The consultant will work closely with the Ecosystems Division and the Nature Frameworks Support Unit to enhance stakeholder engagement and promote biodiversity objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver a full communication strategy for NBSAP 3.0 (2026‑2035).
• Develop a detailed road‑map for implementing the communication strategy.
• Produce a capacity‑building report for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
• Create multilingual campaign materials for diverse stakeholder groups.
• Establish and launch communication platforms to sustain EPA engagement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in environmental or biodiversity communication.
• Familiarity with the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity and related protocols.
• Ability to work in a multicultural setting and coordinate with government agencies.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
