Field Finance Officer

About the role

The Field Finance Officer supports field teams by ensuring financial policies, procedures and tools are understood and applied correctly. This role combines day‑to‑day accounting tasks with strategic budgeting and reporting to help the organization achieve its mission.

Key responsibilities

• Guide field staff on financial policies, procedures, templates and checklists.
• Collaborate with Provision users and procurement staff to review provision requests and budget availability.
• Create and process invoices in Provision, ensuring timely payment requests.
• Extract weekly account listings, monitor project budgets, and correct coding errors.
• Prepare and run monthly accounts payable (AP) reports, ensuring approval by the 5th of the following month.
• Support semi‑annual and annual budgeting cycles.
• Coordinate weekly fuel reviews, liquidations, reconciliations and replenishments.
• Assist with field payments, including mobile‑money transactions.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations, manage petty cash, and compile supporting documents for payments.
• Oversee field‑level support services such as office and fleet logistics, and maintain asset and inventory registers.
• Provide financial management for assigned grants and support risk and compliance activities.

Required profile

• Degree or HND in Finance, Accounting or Economics; CPA/CA/CIMA qualification is a plus.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar finance role.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Commitment to Christian values and willingness to lead daily devotions.
• Good coaching, mentoring, networking and collaboration skills.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of accounting software.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
