Finance & Compliance Manager – Faith and Community Initiative

About the role

Provide practical financial management, grants compliance, internal controls, and sub‑award oversight for the Faith and Community Initiative (FCI) country program in Sierra Leone. The role works closely with the Country Project Manager and Global Finance team to ensure resources are stewarded responsibly and audits are passed.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain country‑level budgets, phased spending plans, cash forecasts and budget‑versus‑actual analyses.
• Review expenditures, coding, journal entries, reconciliations, advances and liquidations for accuracy and proper approval.
• Produce monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, including variance explanations, burn‑rate analysis and management recommendations.
• Manage cash flow, fund requests, partner advances and liquidation follow‑up in line with approved work plans.
• Monitor financial flows to CHAs, FBOs and other local partners, ensuring timely disbursement, proper utilization and accountability.
• Lead financial close‑out activities, final expenditure review, accrual tracking, partner close‑out and documentation retention.
• Apply U.S. Government regulations (2 CFR 200), donor terms, World Vision policies, local statutory requirements and internal procedures.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in financial management and compliance within donor‑funded programmes.
• Strong understanding of grant compliance, internal controls and audit processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with project managers, partners and finance teams.
