About the role
The National Technical Coordinator will lead FAO’s component of the Joint United Nations Nutrition Programme in Sierra Leone. Reporting to the FAO Representative and Assistant FAOR, the incumbent will ensure effective planning, implementation, and delivery of agriculture, livelihoods, and climate‑resilience interventions.
Key responsibilities
- Lead implementation of FAO project components against approved workplans, budgets and timelines.
- Develop and oversee annual, quarterly and detailed operational workplans aligned with FAO standards and donor requirements.
- Provide technical leadership for climate‑resilient agriculture, livelihood support and nutrition‑sensitive activities.
- Coordinate with UN partners (UNICEF, WFP, WHO) to ensure integrated, multi‑sectoral delivery.
- Maintain strong collaboration with national and district government institutions, NGOs, implementing partners and private sector actors.
- Supervise procurement processes, ensuring technical specifications meet project needs and comply with FAO procedures.
- Oversee use of FAO corporate systems for reporting, monitoring and financial management.
Required profile
- Proven leadership and management experience in FAO‑led or similar multi‑sectoral programmes.
- Ability to work closely with government counterparts, UN agencies and private sector partners.
- Strong understanding of agriculture, livelihoods, climate‑smart practices and nutrition‑sensitive interventions.
