School Safe Club Coordinator

About the role

The School Safe Club Coordinator is a volunteer position based in Freetown, supporting the creation and management of school‑based clubs that raise awareness and prevent child sexual abuse. Working directly with students, teachers and school leaders, the coordinator helps deliver age‑appropriate education on personal safety and child protection.

Key responsibilities

• Organise regular safe‑club meetings, awareness activities and educational sessions within schools.
• Facilitate basic trainings and orientation workshops for students, peer leaders and school staff.
• Maintain accurate records of club membership, activities, outcomes and report progress to the program team.
• Collaborate with parents, community stakeholders and partner organisations to strengthen prevention efforts.
• Connect students to appropriate support resources when needed, ensuring safeguarding standards are met.

Required profile

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to engage students, educators and community members.
• Experience working with children or youth in school or community settings is highly desirable.
• Commitment to child protection, safeguarding and confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently on‑site in Freetown and collaborate within a diverse team.
• Basic proficiency in written and spoken English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
