District Health Coordinator – MNH & Child Health

About the role

The District Health Coordinator will support the Integrated MNH + Child Health + Nutrition Project, strengthening district‑level health management and service delivery in Sierra Leone. The role involves representing the project in district forums, coordinating with health authorities, and ensuring quality improvement across MNH, child health, and nutrition services.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and implement project activities at district level, ensuring timely execution.
• Lead community engagement and coordinate with District Health Management Teams and health facilities.
• Support capacity building of health facility committees and supervise district‑level staff as needed.
• Organise and monitor RMNCAH training, on‑site coaching, and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Manage district budget, monitor indicators, and prepare regular reports for the Project Manager.
• Collaborate with construction and pharmacy teams to oversee facility rehabilitation and medical supply management.
• Ensure compliance with Save the Children policies, including child safeguarding and gender equality.

Required profile

• Diploma, Higher Diploma or BSc in Community Health, Public Health, Nursing or related field.
• 1‑2 years experience working with a District Health Management Team or in a similar NGO role.
• Proven experience managing a project budget.
• Knowledge of quality‑improvement approaches and tools.
• Familiarity with national health registers and DHIS2.
