About the role
The Human Resource & Administration Officer supports the IFRC Freetown Cluster Delegation by delivering consistent HR services and providing essential administrative assistance to staff, guests and delegates. The role ensures equity, compliance with HR policies, and smooth operational logistics.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the full recruitment cycle for delegates and national staff, from advertising and selection to interviewing, contracting and onboarding.
- Collaborate with technical units to ensure job descriptions are accurate and technically relevant.
- Classify and grade positions according to cluster standards.
- Provide day‑to‑day HR advice and support to managers and employees, ensuring alignment with IFRC HR programs and policies.
- Coordinate travel arrangements, guest pick‑ups, accommodation and other administrative services for incoming delegates and visitors.
Required profile
- Proven experience in human resources, particularly recruitment and employee onboarding.
- Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures and equity principles.
- Ability to deliver high‑quality HR advice to a diverse staff base.
- Excellent organisational skills for managing travel and administrative logistics.
