Nutanix Engineer / Networking IT Support Engineer (Freelance, On‑Call)

About the role

We are looking for a seasoned Nutanix Engineer who can also provide networking IT support on an on‑call basis. This freelance position supports enterprise infrastructure across regional time zones, primarily serving clients in Sierra Leone.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy, configure and manage Nutanix HCI environments (AOS, AHV, Prism).
• Perform upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management of Nutanix clusters.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and networking issues.
• Implement backup, disaster‑recovery, and data‑protection solutions.
• Provide on‑call incident response and support for critical outages.
• Collaborate with global teams on cloud and infrastructure projects.
• Maintain accurate system documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure or virtualization engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Nutanix stack and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP).
• Experience with VMware or Hyper‑V environments.
• Proven ability to handle critical incidents and work independently.
• Excellent communication skills in English (local language preferred).
