Operating Room Nurses – Scrub & Recovery (X7)

About the role

The operating room nurse assists surgeons and anaesthetists during procedures, ensuring safe and efficient patient care from pre‑operative preparation through post‑operative recovery. The role involves sterilising equipment, managing patient positioning, monitoring vital signs and supporting the surgical team under pressure.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and sterilise operating theatre equipment and materials in line with hygiene standards.
• Manage patient reception, transport, positioning and monitoring before, during and after surgery.
• Assist surgeons and anaesthetists by anticipating needs and providing intra‑operative support.
• Supervise and train nurse‑aides and cleaners, and maintain biomedical equipment.
• Maintain accurate patient records, consent forms and surgical data, and report on theatre activities.

Required profile

• In‑depth knowledge of surgical procedures and aseptic techniques.
• At least 3 years experience as a circulating, PACU or scrub nurse in a multidisciplinary operating room.
• Licensed Nursing diploma (SRN) with current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Ability to work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists and other health professionals.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Operation of autoclaves and other sterilisation equipment.
