Construction Officer – Sierra Leone

About the role
The Construction Officer will conduct accurate site assessments and develop site plans to support the design and budgeting of minor infrastructure projects across 43 day‑care centres in Sierra Leone. The role ensures all work complies with the technical standards and regulations of the Government of Sierra Leone and ChildFund.
Key responsibilities
- Perform site assessments and prepare detailed site plans for day‑care centre projects.
- Create drawings, specifications and technical details using AutoCAD.
- Develop bills of quantities (BOQs) and support contract documentation and tendering processes.
- Supervise construction activities, especially water and sanitation systems.
- Coordinate with the ECD Project Manager, International ECD Construction Consultant, procurement, M&E and administrative teams.
Required profile
- Diploma or degree in a construction‑related field.
- Recognised Construction Engineering licence in Sierra Leone.
- Minimum five years of professional experience in construction projects.
- Proven experience preparing site plans, drawings and specifications.
- Experience with contract documentation, tendering, and construction supervision.
Required skills
- AutoCAD for creating technical drawings and site plans.
