Field Officer - GBV Prevention and Safeguarding

About the role

The Field Officer reports directly to the Program Coordinator and acts as the main link between the organization and target communities, schools and local partners in the operational district. The role ensures the safety and well-being of women and girls by promoting timely, accurate communication among stakeholders, leading outreach such as stakeholder meetings, awareness campaigns and project monitoring. It requires strong project lifecycle management, community engagement and specialist knowledge of gender-based violence (GBV), child protection and safeguarding.

Key responsibilities

• Lead awareness campaigns on GBV and referral pathways with volunteers and interns, and map communities and schools to strengthen referral mechanisms
• Support the creation and operation of GBV and adolescent clubs in schools
• Recruit, train and supervise volunteers and interns, and run regular stakeholder engagement meetings
• Manage media interactions and contribute to annual safeguarding and prevention work plans
• Monitor, document and report safeguarding and GBV incidents, and share SEA and SH data with the M&E unit
• Follow up safeguarding cases with partners and integrate safeguarding principles into all activities
• Help deliver prevention programs, partner with local organizations and give input on program development and donor reporting
• Plan and execute project activities according to approved work plans, develop concept notes and budgets, and implement the MEAL plan
• Represent the organization externally, comply with organizational policies, and submit weekly and monthly reports
