Senior Construction Technician – Early Childhood Centers

About the role

ChildFund is seeking a Senior Construction Technician to lead the planning, supervision and quality assurance of rehabilitation works for early childhood development centres across five districts in Sierra Leone. The role will focus on 43 day‑care centres, ensuring all works meet government and organisational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct accurate site assessments and develop detailed site plans for infrastructure upgrades.
• Prepare drawings, specifications and technical details using AutoCAD.
• Support design and budgeting processes for minor rehabilitation projects.
• Oversee construction activities on‑site, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and technical standards.
• Coordinate with contractors, manage tendering documentation and monitor contract performance.
• Report to the Project Manager and liaise with international consultants and program directors.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in a construction‑related field.
• Recognised Construction Engineering licence in Sierra Leone.
• Minimum seven (7) years of professional experience in construction projects.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD for preparing site plans and technical drawings.
• Experience with contract documentation and tendering processes.
• Knowledge of water and sanitation system installation and maintenance.
