Country Lead for USG‑funded Project in Sierra Leone

About the role

We are looking for a Country Lead to head the implementation of a USG‑funded project in Sierra Leone. The Lead will act as the primary liaison with the U.S. Department of State Embassy and the Government of Sierra Leone, providing strategic direction across health policy, health informatics, public financial management and resource mobilisation.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact for the U.S. Embassy and the Ministry of Health, ensuring alignment with USG and national priorities.
• Lead the development and execution of annual work plans, budgets, staffing plans and performance improvement initiatives.
• Oversee the delivery of high‑quality technical assistance by local partners and consultants.
• Coordinate with global and regional technical teams to mobilise specialised expertise and build local capacity.
• Monitor project progress, report to the Regional Technical Advisor and the Project Director, and address any issues promptly.

Required profile

• Legal right to live and work in Sierra Leone.
• Senior‑level experience in health systems strengthening, health policy development, or related public sector reforms.
• Proven track record of managing large‑scale development projects, budgets and multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Strong ability to engage with government officials, donors and international partners.
