Mid‑ to Senior‑Level Local Consultant – Demographic Transition & SRHR

About the role

Palladium is building a pool of short‑term technical assistance experts for the Women’s Integrated Sexual Health (WISH) – Policy & Systems (P&S) programme, the UK FCDO’s flagship SRHR investment in Africa. Selected consultants will support FCDO posts across a range of African countries on demographic transition (DT) and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) challenges, providing evidence‑based advocacy and policy assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Support evidence‑based advocacy to raise visibility and political buy‑in for DT and SRHR reforms.
• Engage civil‑society organisations and media to amplify advocacy messages.
• Provide technical assistance on policy, financing and institutional bottlenecks affecting DT and SRHR outcomes.
• Contribute to problem‑driven, iterative adaptation of the programme’s technical assistance approach.
• Participate in mini‑competitions when specific consultancy opportunities arise.

Required profile

• Mid‑ to senior‑level national consultant with experience in demographic transition and SRHR systems strengthening.
• Proven track record working with government ministries, donors and civil‑society partners.
• Ability to operate across multiple African contexts and adapt to short‑term assignments.

Required skills

• Production of evidence‑based briefs and recommendations.
