Purchaser

About the role

The Purchaser will be responsible for sourcing consumables and spare parts for Siemens Energy operations in Sierra Leone. Working closely with both local and international suppliers and the client, you will ensure timely delivery of materials required for operation and maintenance contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and qualify subcontractors and suppliers, obtain quotations and negotiate prices.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders, verify invoices and ensure compliance with internal controls.
• Coordinate import procedures, obtain customs clearance for offshore parts and supplies.
• Maintain close contact with the client to confirm delivery schedules and contractual scope.
• Prepare administrative reports, support bookkeeping and store management activities.
• Conduct inventory checks of tools and assets under Siemens O&M responsibility.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and propose process improvements.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of procurement experience in a multinational commercial environment.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Familiarity with international procurement processes, internal control and compliance systems.
• Proven ability to lead contract negotiations.
• Effective communication across diverse cultural backgrounds.
