Head Of Maintenance – Civil (Masonry, Plumbing, Carpentry & Painting)

About the role

The Head of Maintenance – Civil is responsible for preserving the structural integrity of Koidu Government Hospital and the new Maternal Centre of Excellence. The role leads renovation, repair and preventive maintenance of building structures, plumbing networks, furniture and cabinetry to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate civil repairs on walls, foundations, floors and roofs across hospital facilities.
• Conduct regular inspections to detect wear‑and‑tear and plan corrective actions.
• Design, supervise and manage renovation, rehabilitation and light construction projects.
• Provide technical input for structural upgrades, expansions and new construction.
• Oversee paving works, including concrete and interlocking tile installations for walkways, ramps and drainage control.
• Plan and supervise installation, preventive and corrective maintenance of water plumbing systems and sanitary fittings.
• Manage installation and upkeep of furniture, hardware and cabinetry in clinical and non‑clinical areas.
• Produce architectural designs and material specifications for building projects.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Building Technology or a related technical field from a recognized institution.
• Experience supervising civil construction, maintenance and renovation works in a healthcare or similar environment.
• Ability to lead teams and coordinate with hospital management and external contractors.
