Janitor – Environmental Health Worker

About the role

Partners In Health is seeking a dedicated Janitor to support the Wellbody Clinic in Kono District, Sierra Leone. The role focuses on maintaining a clean and sanitary environment for patients, staff and visitors, contributing to the overall quality of health services.

Key responsibilities

• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping and scrubbing; clean ceilings and walls.
• Empty trash containers, manage linen distribution and track usage per department.
• Service and clean patient rooms, refill toiletries and other supplies as needed.
• Maintain outdoor areas: trim lawns, remove debris, control weeds and plant flowers.
• Dig pits for waste disposal and perform tasks to prevent weed growth.
• Mix chlorine solutions for sanitation.
• Assist with patient flow management and transportation within the clinic.
• Maintain an inventory database of cleaning materials and equipment in collaboration with the Operations team.

Required profile

• Professional environmental health worker or experienced cleaner in a health‑care setting.
• Physical ability to perform manual cleaning and outdoor maintenance tasks.
• Commitment to hygiene standards and safety procedures.

Required skills

• Chlorine mixing for disinfection.
