About the role
The Self‑Reliance Manager leads initiatives that help individuals and families become financially and socially independent. This fixed‑term position (3 years) supports the priorities of senior church leadership and works across a defined geographic area.
Key responsibilities
- Identify challenges, raise issues, and recommend solutions to senior priesthood leaders.
- Provide logistical support for assessments, mentoring, training, and resource distribution to local self‑reliance centers.
- Build relationships with business, educational, financial, government, and community leaders to connect members with employment, training, and micro‑credit opportunities.
- Lead full‑time missionaries, church‑service missionaries, and volunteers in self‑reliance projects.
- Support local church leaders with goal setting, facilitator training, and ongoing evaluation of self‑reliance programs.
- Travel throughout the service area to maintain partnerships and ensure resource accessibility.
- Serve as primary contact for urgent welfare, preventative, and humanitarian requests.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of tools and services, and complete administrative reporting.
Required profile
- Current valid temple recommend.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing or related field (master’s preferred) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum five years of professional experience, including work with mid‑ to upper‑level management, start‑ups, sales, or marketing.
