Hospital Janitor – Koidu Government Hospital

About the role

The Koidu Government Hospital is seeking a dedicated Janitor to maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment across all hospital areas. Working under the supervision of the Head Janitor, you will support daily cleaning operations that meet PIH/MOHS standards and infection‑prevention protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors and other hospital spaces.
• Disinfect surfaces, furniture, floors, equipment, beds, toilets and showers according to established protocols and schedules.
• Collect, sort and evacuate medical waste to designated sites, and empty dustbins regularly.
• Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, ensuring proper storage and maintenance of equipment.
• Report any repair or maintenance needs related to hygiene to the supervisor.
• Promote hygiene and sanitation practices among patients, visitors, staff and mothers in collaboration with nursing and health‑promotion teams.

Required profile

• Open to applicants without Government PIN codes.
• Ability to follow detailed hygiene, disinfection and IPC protocols.
• Line‑management experience is not required; supervision will be provided.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy hospital environment.

Required skills

• Use of cleaning chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
• Knowledge of infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols.
